A first-person shooter on a misty jungle island. Follow the fern trail to the clearing, and the T-rex breaks cover. Pick from seven T-rexes, grab the jeep and run. Built for Patch's launch film.
Dino Island is a tightly scoped first-person shooter made for Patch's launch film: a dense, wet rainforest in morning mist, and a T-rex that hunts you.
Follow the fern trail to the reveal clearing. The T-rex waits in the trees past the muddy pool; come close and it breaks cover, roars on the far bank and charges through the water. Shoot it enough and it staggers. In the jeep it chases you down the road. For now it cannot kill you (add ?mortal to the address to turn that on).
Controls: WASD and the mouse to move and aim, click to lock the mouse, left mouse shoots, Shift sprint, Space jump, R reload, V first or third person, E get in or out of the jeep (Space handbrake), T the T-rex lineup (arrows choose, Enter picks), 1 to 7 swap the hunting T-rex, C credits, H hide the HUD.
The T-rexes were made with Patch's anymove tool: one library T-rex and six variants sharing its 25-bone skeleton and seven clips.
Credits: T-rexes, explorer, hands and carbine, leaves and flowers made by Patch (CC0); the T-rex and woman base models from Patch's anymove (CC0); plants, wood and rock from Poly Haven and ambientCG via Patch's library (CC0); the tan off-road jeep by Scenario (CC BY 4.0).
